Issue with Activating The Movies Game on PC

I recently reinstalled The Movies on my PC, and everything went fine. When I went to go run it for the first time after install, it came up with the normal Activation window with two choices: Connect me to the internet, and I am already connected.

No matter which one I click, it starts to connect me to activation server, then times out and says it was unable to connect to internet. I have already tried turning off, and back on my anti-virus (AVG Anti-virus 2012), disabling / re-enabling my firewall, running game as admin, and trying all valid compatibility modes, and even restarting my PC a couple times. No effect, still does it. I am unable to get any support that I can see from Lionhead Studios (the creator of the game), as their support sends you to Xbox Support, which this game is not.

My system specs are over-exceeding the recommended requirements of game (you can view my specs by clicking my name, and view specs), and I am definitely connected to internet. Any help with this issue, or information as to whether or not the company that manages the activation is no more (activemark technologies) would be greatly appreciated.

The problem there, i believe, is that the game has not been patched to the latest version. If there is a patch that is out, you will need to download and install it, than it might work better.
