ITunes 9.1 setup screen after each launch

upgraded to 9.1 on Win7 64bit, but each time I launch ITunes, I keep getting the setup screen.

"Please wait while Windows configures ITunes."

Once it goes through the process ITunes works, but each time I open ITunes, I get the same routine.

I went back to an older version and I'm having the same issue. Each time I open ITunes, it goes through the configuration screen and setup. It creates another ITunes icon briefly on the desktop and than the new icon disappears and than ITunes opens like usual and works, but each time I open ITunes, I keep getting the same problem.

I don't understand what is going on. All other applications are working fine.

Any ideas?

After looking into the issue and rereading my post, I solved the problem.

It's a shortcut issue on the desktop. ITunes icon wasn't pointing to anything. No target or start in.

I recreated the shortcut from "C:\Program Files (x86)\iTunes" and problem solved.
