Does Windows 7 have anything like the Linux chroot?

I have an application where some of the parameters lock up the system requiring a cold boot. I appear to be one of the very rare users with this problem.

I'd like to run through more parameters to give the developers more specific information about what might be causing the problems. As you can understand, hitting a param and crashing can get tedious really quickly.

I'm hoping there is a process that let's me isolate the app so when it crashes I can close it gracefully rather then cold booting.

Run the application within sandboxie. It's close what you want.

It sounds like this application is doing something in the kernel otherwise a user mode application wouldn't require a cold boot to bring the system back. Your best bet is yo run this in a virtual machine.

I locked up sandboxie and the entire machine went dead. When I loaded the program into sandboxie I did get some messages that made no sense to me. I may play with it a bit more but I'm thinking I made need something more severe, if there is something like that.
