Java(TM) Platform SE binary has stopped working

When playing minecraft using a Java application I get this message and it crashed. I have updated to the 64bit Jave.

Most threads suggest updating your graphics drivers. have a look here, the render setting especially is mentioned as a work around.

Im still no better off with this, I have updated my grapics/minecraft and java to 64bit. Any other suggestions#? I dunno if this has anything to do with it but the pc will restart at random periods even when im not at it.
