I recently upgraded my old video card to a new HDMI capable video card, however this overrode my old onboard audiochip and there was nothing that could be done to fix it. So I caved in and went out and bought a new SB 5.1 VX soundcard. I've now managed to get the 'speakers' playback device in my playback device listing, but even when music or video is playing, the levels stay flat panned dead. Nothing in the menu of the audio control panel fixes it and the drivers that came on the CD are apparently more up to date than the version offered on the website.
Anyone have any suggestions to get this problem solved? I'm itching to have sound again.
