Solved Just installed Win 7 Enterprise x86 on my laptop, BSOD keeps happening

Hello and welcome RollR85 now first up why are you or why have you installed the Enterprise version of Windows 7? I ask because it is usually installed on corporate or organisations machines.

Is this machine going to be part of a company that you work for or what?

Hello ICIT2LOL!

Yes, sort of. I work at the University of Debrecen and they provide legal software for employees for free through an agreement with Microsoft. I must say that I have a problem with the activation as well. For some reason it doesn't activate even though I am connecting to the internet from the institution itself, so the IP should be detected as 'valid'.

Ok mate well have you tried activating the copy while at the University? Thing is it is complicated system that Microsoft have with licences for copies of Windows to be installed via sellers or manufacturers of machines. Now the university (I am not really sure) will have a contract for want of a better term to use the Enterprise on their machines and would have the activation key/s? for those machines.

If I were you I would approach the IT people at the uni and ask what you have to do to get the software you have installed activated. I am surprised they did not let you know what to do when they allowed the use of the Windows on your machine at the time they gave you the opportunity to access that software.

Talked to the IT guy of our department today, he gave me a key for activation. Everything is fine now. Thanks a lot for the help! Best, Roland

Just so you know we are or have to be careful answering threads that people post that involve the Enterprise copy of Windows because as you might appreciate some try to use that version for suspicious and/or non legitimate purposes.
Some who I consider to be not so bright think that the Enterprise version is something special over and above what the majority of us plebs use and run into problems as you might well imagine and contact us for answers when in fact they have shot themselves in the foot - for want of a better term
