just upgraded to ultimate now computer is slow

Fill out your system specs. Right now, no one know what hardware you have. Maybe you have a very puny processor?

Those CPU percentages for explorer, snipping tool, perf mon, etc are very high. I would expect snipping tool to be at zero, but it shows 14% in your pic.

Post another screen shot of task manager. This time with a checkmark in "show processes for all users".

Reboot and run msconfig.

Go to the startup tab and post a pic of what you see.

Go to the services tab and check "hide all Microsoft services". Post a pic of what you see.

Go to the boot tab, advanced options. Is "number of processors" checked?

I'm running out of ideas.

Try this as a test:

Uncheck all of those non-Microsoft services and reboot.

Do you still run slow??

Uncheck all of those items on the startup tab except anti-virus and reboot.

Do you still run slow??

You shouldn't need any of that stuff on the startup tab.

"Number of processors" should not be checked, so that's OK.

Not just yet.

Go to an administrator's command prompt and run sfc /scannow

If it finds any errors run it again until it no longer finds errors.

If it finds no errors, you could try a repair install.

Or wait for more comments from others.

Clean install as a last resort.

If you don't care about spending the time on a clean install, go ahead. But then you may never know what is causing this problem.

Doesn't look to me like SFC /scannow even ran.

You should see something like this if it runs and finds no errors.

You need an administrator's prompt to run it.

Being "setup as administrator" may not be enough.

It runs or it doesn't.

sfc /scannow will NOT run unless you use an administrator's command prompt.

If you don't get a picture like I posted when it finishes, it did not run.

It will take a minute or so to complete.

i am setup as admin

When you type cmd in the search field you MUST right-click cmd under Programs and choose Run as Administrator then click Yes at the UAC prompt.

Only then will the command line run with administrator privileges. Just using an admin account is not enough.

Have a look at this tutorial, which explains how to optimize your Windows installation to increase performance:

http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/11728-optimize-windows-7-a.html

If you notice no difference you may need to consider a clean install as the upgrade may be at the heart of your perceived problem.

However, as has already been pointed out, any new installation needs time to bed in as Superfetch learns which are you favourite programs and Windows indexes your system.

I assume you are talking about Windows Anytime Upgrade.

What that does is unlocks the version of Windows you are upgrading to, and then downloads the relevant files for the upgrade.

As the problem may lie with your original Windows HP installation, I'd be inclined to re-install Windows and repeat the upgrade.

You are at the stage now where you've got to stop going round in circles and make a decision.
