This security update includes improvements and fixes that were a part of update KB3197869 (released November 15, 2016), and also resolves the following vulnerabilities in Windows:

• Security updates to the common log file system driver, Windows OS, kernel-mode drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Microsoft Uniscribe, and Internet Explorer.

I am really disappointed in the direction Microsoft is going with how updates are released for 7 and 10.

Can Microsoft make it any more convoluted for novice computer users by calling one a security update and the other a security fix? What are they smoking?

After installing the following updates KB3207752, KB3205402 and KB890830, MSE right click option to scan a file was gone again. I deleted KB3207752(I randomly picked that one first, had planned to delete all three), restarted computer and MSE right click option was back.

I don't know if that was really the cause or not, hopefully somebody can look into it.

My MSE right click option is still there after installing the three updates, we will have to wait a few days to see if anyone else has the problem and reports it.

I fully understand the difference. As I said, novice computer users I've talked to (unlike you and I) are having problems with Microsoft's choice of words. Not the first time Microsoft has used confusing names. Remember when Windows Defender was originally an anti-spyware only but now it's a full fledged anti-virus program? Or how about Windows Mail, Windows Live Mail, Windows Live Hotmail, Windows Live Messenger, and MSN Hotmail?

I stand by my original position that a lot of confusion for novice computer users could be minimized if Microsoft put a little more thought into how they named their products.

Made a system image then installed all important updates including the roundups. Performed an sfc /scannow. I had no problems.

I was under the impression that the site would automatically identify the browser being used like it did for me yesterday. Thanks for the links, I'll save them for future reference.

Hi there ,

I have not updated since April and my computer runs fine. My anti-spyware works well.

Then I thought, perhaps now the time is right to do these roll-up updates, so I had a look at what my mates in Seven Forums have experienced lately concerning Windows Update. That's why I found this thread and it is still not really straight forward and 100% foolproof so I think I wait a bit longer.

What are the non-security updates in KB3207752. I had windows update to never check for updates, yet somehow it reverted back to automatically downloading and installing updates. It installed KB3207752. Is there anything unwanted in this update ?
