Just get 3177467 from here Microsoft Update Catalog and install it. No reboot required.
After that the installation of 4457144 will succeed.
Wouldn't have figured this out on my own, so again, thanks.

It maybe an incompatibilty with your hardware. I expect MS will issue a fix.
