KB976932 download not being used/recognized

I have Windows 7 Premium Home edition and I did a clean install twice. The service pack 1 KB976932 shows installed but is not on the updates list. It downloaded sucessfully. I cannot install IE 11 without this update. Please don't get over the head of this 73 year old! I have worked on this all day to no avail.

Hello Bill,
When you go Control Panel .>> system does it show Service pack 1 on the desciption.
Have you rebooted, sounds silly but its required

I hate Dell's, when you >>clean<< installed did you use the Dell recovery discs, if not what?.

Thanks for the quick reply. No, the service pack is not shown and computer properties also does not show. Rebooted many times!

I used the Dell installation disc. I did that teice because of this problem. All I have is IE8 and that is about worthless.
