KB976932 "Windows 7 Service Pack 1" Installed Again Today??????

On my 7 machine where the OS was installed including SP1 anyway, in comes this update today which I think is rather odd.
Anyone have any explanation for the apparent anomaly?

I got it, as well. Very strange, since my original DVD had SP1 included. I ran/installed the update anyway, and I can't find any changes made to my install.
UPDATE: WU shows that it was installed without issue.

Are you guys on 32-bit Windows 7? Out of all of my Windows 7 machines, the only one that got this update was my 32-bit VM.

actually, yeah. The 3 (2 laptops, one desktop) that are asking for it are 32bit, the ones (both desktops) that aren't are 64..

That's really wierd.

One laptop is refusing to install it (errors out with 8024200D(32b Ultimate), the other (32b Pro) did it no issues.

Perplexing as all heck

I noticed it wasn't as big as the original SP1, only around 2MB. The original .exe was at least 500MB and the ISO was almost 2GB so this must be a revision.

I saw it only on my netbook which carries 32-bit 7. It and 1 other update failed, but after a reboot it installed OK.

I'll boot into my 64-bit one and see if it went in there, but think not.

As I thought, and as stated earlier by someone else, wasn't offered in my 64-bit. Must have been a revision of SP1 for 32-bit systems. Odd though.

Seems hinky

It always is hinky to me how Microsoft isn't straightforward on the updates. This is not an update listed in the monthly
notices that was published. So why not? Why the mystery? I am not applying it on any of my 32 bit systems until I have
a good answer as to what it is all about. People should really require Microsoft (and any other vendor) to put forth the
full details on updates, what they are about and what they do. Pretty simple.

Depends-Firefox,Dragon, Chrome,
I PM'd the owner of this forum, Shawn Brink, about it and he tends to agree with us. He said it's probably simply a patch for the service pack. I would never refuse an update that's marked important just because of nebulous labelling. Meanwhile I'll Google it from time to time, but thus far nobody seems to know.

If you are that curious you could call Microsoft as they do provide free support for updates, but I'm not going to all that trouble.

I installed all other updates but waited a day to install this update. It was installed in only a few seconds. Then I checked Event Viewer for Windows Logs\Setup for details:

Package KB2534366 was successfully changed to the Installed state

So it's definitely labeled wrong. Description for KB2534366 is:

When you try to install Windows 7 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or Windows Server 2008 R2 Service Pack 1 (SP1) on a computer that has more than 10 language packs installed, the computer stops responding at a black screen. Additionally, you receive an "0xC000009A" error message.
This issue occurs because the number of open registry key handles for subkeys that have the same name is limited to 65,535 in the registry. Each language pack that is installed on the computer increases the number of open registry key handles.
