Hello! I have a d-link DWA-140 wireless card. I wasn't using it for a week or so, during that time I was connected to the internet via cable. I have been using the wireless card for over a year, then made the week break, and started using it again. After the break my usb detection has gone mad. When I connect to the internet my computer gets into an infinite loop of detecting a device: kernel usb software bus by tcp. The whole computer freezes every few seconds during the detection period. The funny thing is, that when I refused connecting to the internet there was no problem. All my drivers are up to date. My computer is unusable in it's current state. Could you help me?

If you go into Device Manager (right-click Computer>Manage>Device Manager) go to the Network adapters section and disable/re-enable the dongle first. If that doesn't help plug it into a free port on a different bus (a USB port that isn't directly above, below, or next to the one it's plugged into now). If that doesn't help at least uninstall the driver in device manager, and then start from scratch as I'll explain in the next paragraph.

I have a D-Link DWA-131 and I've gotta tell you it's utterly WORTHLESS, but it's all I've got in my current place so I have to make due. You use the D-Link wireless manager software right? I would uninstall+reinstall it from scratch and see how that helps.

My computer is never 'unusable' (and if it does lock up completely it's really as simple as unplugging the DWA adapter to get the system to respond again), but as for the internet, that dongle decides not to work for no reason at all CONSTANTLY. Sometimes it won't detect networks, sometimes it won't connect, sometimes it'll auto-connect to unwanted networks, sometimes it won't even be recognized by Windows. PLUS you have to use that horrible, horrible D-Link manager software that gives you nothing past absolute barebones functionality. But after it plays its stupid little games, I do force it to do its job. So you'll be fine, just takes some work haha.
