Keyboard and mouse disconnection issues

My mouse and keyboard work on my laptop. I have tried and tested it on the other machine and have not come across this issue. So my mouse and keyboard are working properly.

My headset continues to work properly while this issue happens. So my USB ports are still powered.

When the issue happens, I can hear my computer attempting to reconnect my stuff. the "Badunk" noise happens over and over. Its like the computer thinks my Keyboard and mouse are no longer there, but is trying to connect to them.

A few times when this issue happened, my keyboard froze while pressing (W). This happened while in a game, and my character kept moving forward. Though my keyboard and mouse was unresponsive.

-Drivers are up to date.
-Power supply management has been configured to not cut off
-cleaned my computer of malware, virus scans, garbage files etc...

The issue is still present and continues periodically. Sometimes the only way I can get the mouse and KB to return is by switching USB ports. Though sometimes, this doesn't work. I am sometimes forced to do a hard restart :/

Called the support line to tell them my issue. Was told to pay a technician to clean my computer for me. I was not impressed. Since I was calling to find help to figure out why my mouse and keyboard cuts out while in use.

This can sometimes mean a driver conflict. First thing I would try is switching the USB port, in many laptops they have multiple USB ports and one can be preferred best by this / these devices. Try that and then report back with make and model info of all.

Done that. I disconnect the mouse and keyboard and place them back into different USB's.

As stated in the original thread:

Kevin,
What make and model are the mouse and keyboard. Also what is the make and model of the lappy.

Oh it isn't a lap top. It's a desktop. A gate way model. Windows 7 OS 64xbit
Drivers are up to date. Had a few online help guides attempt to find a solution, though nothing was found. They continued blaming the mouse, although the mouse works on my girlfriends laptop without trouble. They seem to forget that the keyboard also fails.

A little more information on the problem. I place the mouse and KB into the top USB's on the computer. (I have two USB ports on the top of the machine.) When I lose the mouse and it reconnects, this will happen more often and often over time. Until the Mouse and KB do not connect at all, forcing me to unplug the devices and plug them into the rear USB's where they will operate for a while without trouble after reconnecting.

After an undetermined amount of time, they will also begin to lose connection. Repeating the same situation as the upper USB ports had done previous. However, once they fail to reconnect after a bit, I am forced to do a hard restart because they refuse to reconnect in any other port.

-Drivers are up to date. Been inspected and showed no issues.
-No malware or virus's detected.
-Cleaned out all cookies and garbage etc...
-Changed power management not to shut down ports to conserve energy.
-Cleaned the mouse, inside and out. (Inspected wires. which are fine.)

A friend of mine is having the same problem now also. This issue just appeared for him. He told me last night. I will see if he can find anything or has done anything to his rig before this happened.

Oh its a Logitech G500 mouse... The KB is a typical normal KB that came with the PC. Acer.

To me this speaks to a resource conflict. Please update and run deep scan on your Anti Virus (tell me it's not McAfee) and install free Malware Bytes and run until all scans are free of issues. Then and only then please look in you start up menu for any programs you can remove and let us know what you find.

Friend of mine. He did an update for windows yesterday, now he is getting the same issue as I am. Granted he is windows 8. Not sure what package update I received, though I am pretty sure it was a recent "Fix" that caused the problem.

It's also not beyond W7 fixing this issue in time. I would run deep scans and then remove all unneeded programs from start menu. Also put your kb and mouse in the upper most usb slots on mobo io. Shut down and boot a couple of times and then see if you still have this issue?

security update for microsoft .NET framework 4.5.1
I updated this file update in May. That was about the time I noticed this issue with my mouse giving me trouble. I uninstalled the updates. Will update this feed if the problem persists or is fixed. So far nothing.

Update: It stalled once so far. came back. Was just selecting windows. Then it hiccup'd.Could be because I didn't restart after uninstalling. restarting now.
