Hi guys,

I bought a 16gb Kingston Datatraveler USB drive.

I want to format it and I'm unsure as to what Allocation Unit Size I should choose.
My options are:

Default
4096 bytes
8192 bytes
16 kilobytes
32 kilobytes
64 kilobytes

8192 bytes is selected when I choose format.

Any ideas?

Do not bother about Allocation Unit Size.

For optimal performance and longevity use the SD Formatter.

https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_3/

Yes, it is for SD cards but you can format flash drives too.

It sets the correct allocation size automatically.

Download the User Manual and read through the various options.
