So I just recently got this new laptop (XPS 17 - L702X) and suddenly it started giving this error after my computer would wake up from hibernating or sleep mode:

Problem signature:
Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033

Additional information about the problem:

BCP4: 0000000000000004
OS Version: 6_1_7601

I'm using
Windows 7 Ultimate x64 SP1
Full Retail
Brand New
OS is a couple days old. I reinstalled it last Friday.

I have done the steps in the How to Report a Blue Screen of Death and they're included in the .zip file I will attach. I also included the "WER-38501-0.sysdata.xml" in the .zip as well. I need to repeat, this only happens after waking up from hibernation or sleep mode and it usually takes like 30 seconds before it happens, usually right when I try to open my internet browser and email. It also started happening randomly, it was working fine on the weekend. Hopefully someone will know what to do as I can't be the only person getting this error.

Please start with this article for the STOP 0x116 BSOD troubleshooting: http://www.sevenforums.com/crash-lo...op-0x116-video_tdr_error-troubleshooting.html FWIW - all of the memory dumps are STOP 0x116 errors - so this is probably the main cause of your problems.

This device is shown as being disabled:
Cisco AnyConnect VPN Virtual Miniport Adapter for Windows x64 ROOT\NET\0000 This device is disabled.
Please enable it, and then uninstall it from the system. Feel free to reinstall it once we're finished troubleshooting.

Daemon Tools is known to cause BSOD's in Win7 system due to the sptd.sys driver. Please do the following:
- uninstall Daemon Tools
- use this free tool to remove the offending sptd.sys driver: DuplexSecure - FAQ - Remove 64 bit sptd.sys

OLDER DRIVERS PRESENT IN THE DUMP FILES
- Create a System Restore Point prior to doing any of this. DO NOT mess with the drivers themselves - leave the Windows\System32\drivers directory alone unless we specifically direct you to it!
- Please update these drivers from the device manufacturer's website - or uninstall them from your system. Reference links are included below.
- DO NOT use Windows Update or the Update Drivers function of Device Manager.
- Please feel free to post back about any drivers that you are having difficulty locating.

All of the drivers you listed are all up to date even though some of them may be old except for the synaptics driver which I just installed and still got the error, although this time it took a bit longer than before. As for the Cisco thing it's a software thing that I need to use for access to my University's network when off-campus and is only on when it's being used which is why it stays disabled. I don't believe it is the daemon tools because the problem existed before I installed it.

The only thing I can think that it might be is the nusb3xhc.sys driver, which has apparently been causing problems with lots of people that have my particular model laptop (in that the USB 3.0 stops communicating with devices but I have no USB 3.0 device to test with though my USB 2.0 mouse has been plugged into one of the 3.0 ports without an problems), or the graphics drivers based on this thread: http://www.sevenforums.com/crashes-debugging/32831-bsod-every-time-wake-up-2.html where the guy experienced the same problem as I did but he had ATI instead of N-vidia.

I have the most up to date drivers for the USB device that I installed from Dell (couldn't find them anywhere else) and the video drivers I got from Dell were out-dated and installed the newest ones from N-Vidia over them which might be causing the problem. Also I would like to mention that I went into the device manager recently and all of sudden I had 3 extra "High Definition Audio Devices" that were not installed. I told them to install and they found the drivers automatically and installed them as the above; I don't remember what they called before but it was something along those lines.

Edit: Also found another person with the same problem that solved it using msconfig's "Base Video" boot option (http://forums.techarena.in/vista-help/1239541.htm) which I'd like to know more about before I attempt to use it. The fix is pointless if the computer no longer uses the N-Vidia drivers...

The USB 3.0 driver is the latest AFAIK - there were problems with some systems using the 2009 version of the USB 3.0 drivers, but they seem to have been "fixed" by the later drivers (from my research).

But, it's your system - and you know best what's properly updated and what's not.
I wish you luck in your endeavor to fix this.

So fresh install of the video drivers did not fix the problem so I'm at a loss and have no idea what to do. I read that having the refresh rate at 120 Hz might be the cause of the problem and that lowering it down to 60 Hz might fix it. Also the "Base Video" option might work, but I don't know if the NVIDIA drivers still load so I don't have to change the settings every time I turn on the computer. This is very frustrating >_<

Edit: Going to try this and see what happens: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/101379-driver-verifier-enable-disable.html#post875702

Okay so I turned down the monitor resolution from 120 Hz to 60 Hz and I haven't had the problem occur since. Definitely something funky going on with the drivers and stuff...
