LAN Connection Problems ( Ipv4 and Ipv6: No Internet/Network Access)

Hello, today I woke up and there was no Internet on my computer. I have had this happen to me before so I did the usual, restart and reboot but it didn't work. So I have been researching on my phone for 3 hours now and nothing has helped me fix this. It will switch from " No network access" and "no Internet access" every couple seconds. Anyone know what the problem is?

Power down your Modem, Router, and PC. Then power up your DSL or Cable modem and let it run for few minutes. Then power up your router and let it run for a few minutes. Finally power up your PC and see if you have Internet access.

I don't have a modem and router. I have a gateway (don't really know what that is)

How does your PC get Internet? Is it Wired or wireless? Your Gateway is the device that supplies your Internet connection from your ISP. It is usually a DSL or Cable modem, it may also have an integrated Router in it.

Well my desktop has a wired connection, but I have 3 other laptops that are connected wirelessly. Also my gateway thing is also a router. I am starting to think that that is the problem because the offline light is off and most of the other lights are blinking.

If no PC's using that gateway have internet, then its the gateway/router. Power cycle it and see what happens. If its only the one PC that can't connect it's likely that PC has an issue or your cable is loose or defective. Check the connections and maybe even switch to a different LAN port on the Router.

I have tried all of that and it still won't work.

Is it only the one PC or all PC's that can't get Internet?
Can you log into the status page for your Router/Modem?
What does the network and sharing center show?
You may have to open a command prompt window and run ipconfig/all to see whats going on.

It is all PC's that arnt working. Yes I can log into it. The network and sharing center says that it is connected but there is no Internet access for IPv4 and no network access for IPv6. This is for both wired and wireless connection.

OK, its not a problem with the PC then, its a router and or modem problem. Is it a combined router modem or is the router yours? It's a combo unit and supplied by your ISP its time to call them. If its your router you'll have to bypass it and connect directly to the modem. It you then get internet its a router problem, if you don't you're back to calling your ISP. I have to go out for a while but will check back latter on when I'm home again.

Likely a problem on your ISP's end that they finally fixed.
