What is the other end plugged into, and do you see any connectivity lights flashing?

Other end is My ISP Broad Band Connection, its a direct LAN wire coming to my home. I tested that wire on laptop and its working fine. Not showing up on my desktop.
No its LEDs too not glowing. Seems Like Port is in Deep Sleep mode or may be got corrupted. But If it so then how come its showing perfectly fine in device manager? and also in network connections (control panel) its showing the LAN Connection but stated as disconnected.
Will formatting my PC will help?
M not able to sort out whethr its H/w or OS issue.

It almost sounds like the connection is not making a complete contact with the desktop port.

Well, I would download the stock drivers for it from the manufacturer's website (of the machine or the card, depending on whether you built it or bought it), and then uninstall the device, and replace the current drivers with the ones you've downloaded.

I concur, replace or install the drivers for the lan card (transfer them via USB stick or whatever you have). That failing, since there are not any lights, I would call it a hardware issue, and contact the manufacturer or vendor re: RMA if the warranty or return period is still intact.

Thanks to All to help resolving my issue.
Well I can say even i feel it as Hardware issue since its LEDs Not glowing at all.. as per my knowledge in idle state lan port glows one led and when LAN cable Plugged it glows/blinks other one too.. Mine Both Missing :(

Moreover i have already downloaded and reinstalled drivers..
Completely removed existing software (also from registry) then re-installed but of no use to me..

After uninstalling drivers it do detects "NEW HARDWARE" and installing fresh drivers again shows it in Device Manager and network connections. Able to ping 127.0.0.1 too.. But only problem LEDs not glowing and not detecting Cable plugged in it... STRANGE!

well, let's not give up yet....This board has some special energy saving options. Are you SURE you have the LAN enabled in BIOS and that you have all powersaving etc off?

Yes.. I have Enabled LAN from Bios, else it wont show up in device manager too.. Hmm yah i saw some energy saving features of this boards.. i made it off..
How about this smart LAN feature in Bios of gigabyte? is anyone aware wat is it? when i plug my internet wire and run smart lan test, it shows 1-2 short, 2-3 test then Okie ... something bla bla.. and rest of Open Open..
When i Unplug RJ-45 and run again it shows all 1-2 short .. rest of Open..something like this.
what exactly is this?

Hey guys.. thanks a lot for giving me so much of yours time..
I just installed PCI Lan card in my system and got my internet working again... :)
and finally the conclusion is My MObo lan port got minor damage due to electric surge through LAN cable coming my home.. As i came to know recently my ISP changed his network equipment (switch) located near my home and reson to change is it was damaged due to electric surge.. so i think may be that electric surge damaged my LAN..

But Why Only ME????
No other ppl affected due to this!

Electricity travels along the shortest distance possible. If he was near your home, and you have the shortest lines, it would hit you. Also, you should call your ISP and pose this to them and ask for some compensation :)
