Lan wont work Compters wont give permision no matter what

Me and my nephew wanted to lan play a couple of games. The first time every thing went smoothly. Both computers communicated fine how ever after that they now refuse to communicate. When I try to test the access it now stats on both that we don't have admin permission. I tride every thing I could think of. Updateing drivers, changeing network setings but nothing works. We both have windows 7 home premium 64 bit. Mine is a desktop, his is a laptop. While connected to the network we both have internet just the computers wont comunicate. What am I missing. I have even manually put in the ip, subnet mask and ports manualy.

How do I fix this. I'm at the point were I'm going to rip my hear out. Please help.

Have you checked your firewalls as well as your Anti-virus settings?

yes of course. I even checked the ports and so on. Just in case.
