laptop cannot detect wireless networks

when I ran troubleshooter it says cannot find problem. Also my passkey is correct, but not just my own home network, all my neighbour's networks cannot be seen as well.

Hmm... well this is perplexing. Have you updated the driver for you Wireless card? If not go to ASUS website and find you model and download and install the latest driver.

It seems lot of people have had issues with this particlular wireless card.

My brother has the exact same Wireless card in his Lenovo laptop and I had issues with it too on our network. Not the exact same problem but connection issues. Try to find driver version9.2.1459 or higher.

Dear all,

I had also faced the same problem as discussed in earlier post. I am using DW1520 Wireless N Half Mini Card on Dell Vostro 3400.

Until now, I couldn't manage to connect to my home AP where I can't see my AP but listed only my neighbor's AP. Really need your advise on this matter.

hi that was another member asking about his own issue.

anyways I SEEM to have fixed my issue, I uninstalled something called "asus power4gear" which is a laptop power management software and now magically I can see wireless networks again, hopefully it stays that way. thanks for the help.

Post your "ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt" in command line without quotes.

And you've already done the typical troubleshooting? If not then do a quick troubleshoot following these steps as well.
1.All lights blinking on router and modem?
2. Power Cycle(on/off) both router and modem
3.Use network troubleshooter
-Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Troubleshoot Problems-
3. Check network settings.
-Control Panel>Network and Sharing Center>Change Adapter Settings(left panel)>Right Click icon and select properties>Select IPv4 Properties>Check "Obtain an IP address automatically". Same for DNS settings.-

For your information, I had done the steps as your suggestion but unfortunately it doesn't work. From the BIOS setting, it shows that the adapter is already enable.
My problem is the Wireless Network Connection is not connected where it does not detect my home AP but only shows my neighbour's AP. However, I managed to get connected using my neighbour's AP without any problem (where Wireless Network Connection can connected to internet, seems like wireless adaptor work fine).
What I'm confusing is that other network device (other notebook) can connect to my home AP but not vostro 3400. Futhermore, my vostro can also connected to other AP as now I'm using my neighbour's AP.
Any suggestion to further investigate my problem ?
Really need your help.

Please post your "ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt" in command line without quotes. So I can see if the router is even giving your computer an IP address. If not I can get a better picture of your connection.
The fact that you can connect to another AP and yours cannot seems to me you should try a factory reset of the router(How to Reset a Router Back to the Factory Default Settings | eHow.com) and re-do your network settings (the ssid, pass key, etc). Since you already tried the other troubleshooting steps.

Ok that confirms the router is not communicating with you pc. The Default Gateway is not displaying an IP address.
You said you changed the SSID, but did you do a factory reset following the instructions I linked?
Have you tried physically plugging in a network cable to see if it's only the wireless that's not working?
I forgot to include in my previous troubleshooting to try in command prompt Ipconfig /release and then Ipconfig /renew.

Finally I managed to solve my problem by resetting all my hardware (modem+router+change SSID) and also reset tcp, ip, winsock & firewall using netsh.
