Laptop disk drive running slow

I personally don't put much faith in them. I'm quite happy to go hunt them up myself.

I used DriverMax not with a view to updating my drivers but as a means to back them up and restore them with some sort of order and it does appear to make that function easy enough. A bit like using Acronis, you save them and then you restore them. I then thought, OK, I'll see what the Update thing showed, and it did give me chapter and verse of what my driver versions were and what the latest ones are, and where to find them. It is a free program, so no money changed hands, nor will it!

Its all part of my planning for when I rebuild the notebook.

Hey, thats cool, if it works for you, go for it. Free is nice too. Everybody has there own way of doing things. Thats all part of the computer scene.

I just used it to update the AMD SATA controller. It all seems OK thus far.

The free version only allows you two updates a day, but who wants to do them all at the same time?
