Laptop does not turn on straight away after waking up

Hi,

If I leave my laptop and it goes to sleep, after I've turned it back on, it takes ages to come back on. Instead of going straight to the log in screen, it will say "resuming windows" and will be very slow in going to the log in page, and seems very sluggish afterwards. I haven't changed any of the settings, and I even put it back to factory settings, but it still does the same. Not sure what it could be?

Is this a personal or work laptop?

I'd start off with a Clean boot.

Have you fiddled with the Power Options? Control Panel\Hardware and Sound\Power Options
