I dont know if i posted this in the right section, but here goes.

My laptop fans turn off and the laptop gets really hot sometimes. Is there someway to control the fan? Or some kind of software to install or anything?

I have a Gateway E-265M Laptop with windows 7 ultimate 32 bit.

running on the battary or plugged in? Also what power scheme are you running? Make sure the system cooling policy for the selected power scheme is set to your preferrences. Passive slows the CPU speed before increasing the fan speed and active increases fan speed before slowing the cpu. Change this setting under advanced power settings, then expand processor power management
