Laptop no longer getting past Start Up Boot

Hello, I had a problem where my windows 7 64 bit laptop hasn't gotten past the start up screen for well over 20 minutes. I've powered off my laptop and attempted a startup repair 3 times with no improvement. When the startup repair completed, the diagnosis showed that the only repair action that failed was System Files Integrity Check and Repair with the error code: 0x490. I've also attempted restore my system up to 3 days ago however the problem persists. Any further attempts at using the Startup Repair I get a message saying "Startup Repair cannot repair this computer automatically". It then provides the following problem signature:

I've managed to successfully boot into Safe Mode with Networking and opened up the elevated command prompt and then ran system files checker SFC /scannow hoping it would fix any of my startup issues. However at the end of it I got a message saying, "Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them" and left the file sfcdetails.txt of what went wrong. The only error I noticed regarded a file called "ksuser.dll. Do I have to find a non-corrupted version of the file and replace it to fix my start up problems? Any help would be greatly appreciated and thanks!

I don't know how to fix these problems but only corruption is ksuser.dll. Will ask NoelDP to take a look. Hopefully, he will guide you.

Did you go through http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/219533-troubleshooting-windows-7-failure-boot.html yet? Might have some steps you have not tried.

Eurim, I think you could save yourself a ton of grief and time buy backing up all data and as long as you have your system disks, drivers and OS or even just the key for your OS you may want to just bite the bullet and do a clean install. There's a great tutorial on that right here. Please use this as a chance to minimize bloatware and this wipes your drive so you are like starting over with in many ways a better than new computer. Also pull the back panel and blow out the fan and coolers, maybe add a ssd and more ram after you tweak your rig and fresh install you'll get back your snappy new computer and can move on.

Thanks for the response. Im currently in the process of reinstalling windows 7 and I'm a little confused as to when it actually completes. I've restarted multiple times already and I've even reached the point "completing installation". My laptop restarted again, brought me back to the main installation page with the install now button again. Is it done yet? Can I cancel it, eject the disc, and try to start up my laptop normally or will I lose all I installed so far?

EDIT: Well I figure out what the issue was and solved that part. I did notice that when my laptop restarted it gave me the option of choosing between two Windows 7. How do I know which one to get rid of?

Also, I can't connect to the Internet due to lacking drivers. How do I know which drivers I need to install and where's the best site I can get them from?

If you can provide the exact make/model of PC, we can find it for you.

Don't worry about the 2nd Windows install at the moment. But please backup all your personal files (music/documents/pictures/emails if you use a client/etc.) as soon as possible to an external drive.

Scroll down to "Manuals and Drivers", on the right side Downloads - "View All", click and select drivers.
Scroll down again until you see Windows 7 drivers - get "Wireless LAN, INTEL" with the matching bit version.
Also get the "Lan" driver.

First finish Windows Update updates (get optional updates too, drivers are in this category) - manually check for updates until none are offered. If you still have missing drivers then go back to support site.

Bad news. I restarted and now I'm stuck in the "Starting Windows" part again. No idea why this is happening. Going to just leave it there for a while. Maybe it'll continue.

Yeah, wait a bit. I wonder if it is a driver update that's causing it. Did you get this after a restart due to update?

Waited a good 20 minutes and it's a no go. After I installed a driver I think I was prompted to restart. Then I kept waiting and here I am. I was able to boot back into safe mode. Should I give a system restore a shot?

Sure, there should be one created right before the driver installed. If you could know which update, it would have been faster to just uninstall that one though.

Restored it before the updates and I was able to get in again. Currently updating my now. I did try downloading the driver for my graphics card earlier after a few updates. That might have been the issue. If it did cause it, any idea why it would?

Edit: many updates are failing however some that previously failed are installing successfully later on. Also, when windows update looks for more updates, it hangs at "Checking for updates..." without changing.

It may just be outdated, do you mean you tried to download from the motherboard support site? Let Windows finish the updates.

Does the PC become unresponsive (really come to a crawl) while checking for updates? Sometimes a restart helps, but you may be experiencing this one bug. However, you can't miss its slow down

I like to grab all drivers off manufacturers site for the computer 1st then add my antivirus and Malwarebytes then go after the MS updates but that's just me !

I have 8 gb of RAM and I tried downloading my graphics card driver from the Samsung site that you provided me earlier. Is that what you meant by the motherboard site? Also my laptop managed to find 157 updates last night and I spent quite a fairly long time installing it (roughly 3 - 4 hours). And by the time it was ready to configure, I get a message telling me it has failed and was reverting all the changes... It was frustrating to say the least. :/

Should I download every driver that matches my OS listed from the manufacturers site and should I download them all together before restarting? Or are there only a few drivers I need?

The driver issue is a challenge but normally you grab the latest version of :

Mobo driver
Onboard Audio driver
LAN/Wireless drivers
Intel Chipset driver
USB driver
Intel Rapid Start driver
Intel Rapid Storage driver
Marvell Sata III driver
Current GPU/Video driver - best from that manufacturers site unless onboard

What exactly is a Marvell Sata III driver? Also where can I get it from and same for the motherboard driver and the Intel Rapid Start driver. I didn't see them in the drivers list.

Edit: Tried downloading the amd graphics driver again from the Samsung site. Chose the express option this time and in the middle of the install my laptop went black with only a blinking line in the top left. Powered off my laptop once nothing happened for a good few minutes and now I'm stuck on the starting up windows again.

Booted into safe mode and used system restore point which was made before I tried downloading the graphics driver and now my laptop is fine again. So at this point I'm fairly certain that either: I am installing the driver incorrectly or my graphics card was/is messed up.
