Laptop reboots over and over again at first start-up

Hi! Here goes my first post, hope it works :)

I bought an ASUS X52J laptop 2 months ago. Worked perfectly up until yesterday - I couldn't play any videos at all. Games worked good, but no videos at all.

Tried updating Flash player, video drivers, than downgrading both - no results.

So I decided to do a freah install of Windows 7, like with every PC that I had so far - since all that OEM crap is really choking the machine.

Anyways, installation goes good until the part when it's supposed to start first time.

This is how it goes:
-BIOS screen
-Little gray line and "Windows is loading files"
-Black background, some "lights" in the middle and all that "Setup is checking video performance", "setup is editing registry", "preparing Your PC for first start-up" - or something like that.

Then, I suddenly get a GRAY background image(instead of blue), a spinning mouse cursor, and it restarts. And it does the same thing again. And again. And again. And again. I even left it like that for half an hour, but nothing changed.

Tried booting in Safe mode. Got the black background with "Safe Mode" in each corner but it suddenly restarts. That's it.

So I tried to use ASUS Recovery - the F9 on BIOS Screen. Starts and then I suddenly get a HUGE red ERROR over my screen. In the upper left corner's "ASRecovery - OS File DEPLOY ERROR !"

So now I'm stuck without an OS. And I don't know what to do. So I came here to beg for help.

Pleeease, help me?

Hi, when doing your fresh install, did you use advanced feature to format partition before install ?.

Hello Respect90, welcome to Seven Forums!

Here's some interesting info you may find useful; do the wipe (secure erase) first to get rid of any corruption on the HDD and be sure to post back with any further questions you may have and to keep us informed.

After you have copied out or made back-ups of the data you need to save to external media; if you can find an exact Windows version that the PC shipped with you can do a clean install using the activation key on the COA sticker attached to the PC though it may require a robo-call to MS to sort the OEM batch-key.

How to Activate Windows 7 by Phone

If you can't find an exact same version, you could use the info in this tutorial to create an "all Versions" installer of any version Windows installer, to install using the same method I posted above.

After you have made backups of everything you care to save, the best method is to do a complete wipe (secure erase) of the entire Hard Disk Drive first, it over-writes everything, all the old Windows code including all the old drivers/programs, giving you the best possible space to install Windows to.

It's likely a driver is hanging at the point of install. Try entering Device Manager during install using this method to uninstall any devices in error so Win7 will start and then you can update the driver: http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/15856-device-manager-access-during-windows-7-installation.html

Look over these steps for getting a purrfect clean reinstall of factory OEM: http://www.sevenforums.com/installation-setup/125874-re-install-windows-7-a.html#post1086729

Wiping the HD may also solve the problem if it's bootsector corruption, but if not reset the CMOS: http://pcsupport.about.com/od/fixtheproblem/tp/clearcmos.htm
