Hi,

Is there a way to add this to the right click menu without locking the laptop?

Thank You

Hello Rockit,

If you like for now, you could set to have your displays turned off when idle for one minute. This way they will turn off for you automatically shortly after leaving the PC idle.
If you like, I could easily adjust the tutorial below to only turn off the display and not also lock the computer for you. However, if you move the mouse any at all after clicking on the desktop context menu, it will just turn the display back on again. Please let me know if you would still like this, and I'll be happy to get it up for you tonight. :)

Hi Brink,

When possible, no hurry, I'd like to be able to switch off the monitor and see if it can work for what I'm hoping to achieve. I can lockdown or activate my screensaver but would like to try a option that doesn't effect those settings or the power plan. I don't use hibernate due to past unwelcome results.

Ok. I'll have a new tutorial posted later tonight for this, and post back with a link to it when it's finished. :)

Just a thought but would the hotkey work? Or does it have to be part of the right click menu. Most laptops have a Fn key that can be remapped to a hot key combo if the fn+f1 or which ever it is on your lappy isn't comfy for you.

Thank You

:thumbsup:This works better than I was expecting! Thanks Again !!

I tried a few different things myself and my on-screen keyboard would still be there. Not anymore. I would think the laptop would have a display on / off switch but I could not find one. I don't trust hibernate or sleep mode so this is great!

Thanks Again Brink !
