Laptop screen messed up but not cracked

My husband tripped and caught himself on my laptop, it was not open. The screen is not cracked but the left side is totally messed up with different colors. I can still use it but can't get to my restart or other icons on that side of the screen. Is there a shortcut to restart? I am hoping I can get the screen repaired soon but until then, I need help.

Welcome to the forum if you right click on taskbar you should have the option in setting to move it to top left or right so you can see it
