Laptop starting up slow due to wifi?

Hello everyone,
I’m looking for help on an issue i have at home with my laptop starting up. I’m suspecting that my router is the problem.

I have a laptop from work a HP ProBook 4540s. At work it starts up fine, but at home it takes a quite a few minutes before i get the windows log-in screen and another while before my desktop is ready. AFter that, even starting up IE takes seconds more to load at home then at work.

So i found a thread about the same problem here: http://www.sevenforums.com/network-sharing/74332-slow-connecting-wifi-network-start-up.html and thought i might try looking here for a solution.
I just dont want to mess up the settings that make my laptop function good at work.

Hi there,

It's easy to overlook posts sometimes.....

There might be a logon policy applied in your work laptop. If you can logon locally give it a shot, but I wouldn't try to fiddle around with the setting. I'd highly suggest for you to contact your IT Department and inform them about your issue.

I had similar issue with my work computer, any time the network was down, it would wait until long time outs expired, to proceed to boot to desktop, waiting for non existent network to appear. But I have no solution for you, since as you already mentioned, messing with network log on could break it. If it was my computer and IT adm was of no help, I would probably set it up as dual boot, for home and office, but that's a lot of work and if it's company computer, they may not even allow it.
