I have my laptop hooked up to my TV via an S-video cable. I can get the picture fine but it only shows up as multiple monitors in screen resolution. This would be fine but it's annoying always having to keep my laptop open to watch movies and stuff. Another problem I'm having is the video is stretched on my TV so I'd like to know how to setup my TV as a single monitor. If anyone can help me this would be greatly appreciated

Right click on Desktop - Screen resolution- Connect to a projector.
And then choose Projector Only option.

Same menu can be accessed by Win+P combination.
You still would have to have your laptop open, but the screen will be turned off and TV will be functioning as a single monitor.

Ok this worked. It's on TV only now. How would i be able to make it so i can close my laptop without it going into hibernate? also i still cant change the aspect ratio to fit my TV. How would i change that to fit my TV better?

You wont be able to close laptop and have a movie running from it on TV.

The only way to do that is to disassemble the laptop and cut/break/tear off the sensor that checks whether the lid is open or not. I do not think that you would want to do that.

Have you tried changing resolution (see picture attached)?

Yes I've tried that already and didn't work. I actually just used zoom on my TV settings and it looks decent now. Not the best quality but it's OK. That's Weird that it doesn't have a setting to disable the hibernation. Last question I have is when I use Homegroup to watch a movie on my laptop that I have backed up on my Main PC it streams so slow that it's choppy and doesn't play properly. Is there anyway of solving this or not?

You can use Don't Sleep to change your laptop settings while you are watching a movie.

The size issue is because you are using s-video out to the TV. It's not really meant for PC input. As you know, it will work, but is just a s-video input and you'd have to change it with whatever TV functions you have available. Your PC could change settings if it was VGA, or HDMI.
