I have a HP DV7-1247CL x64 and use W7 Home Premium. My ISP is Verizon FIOS Ultimate and my average speed up/down is about 35/35 with a wired connection.

Recently I have noticed that after signing in it takes about 2 1/2 min to get the W7 loaded. I don't think this is average so what is the average load time.

Thanks

I would put 'average' at between around 30-50 seconds to login screen.

Slowdowns could be caused by too many apps loading at startup.
using msconfig to speed up computer - Google Search

That google link should point you to tons of articles on that subject. Msconfig really hasn't changed since xp so any of them should be fairly accurate.

Many things can cause this problem. The first thing I do if things start slowing down is go to Start and type in msconfig then go to startup and see what you have starting that doesn't need to start. To give a example my computer only has 4 items checked. It varies from user/computer.

I missed your post, sorry

If you are only running 4 checked items would you mind telling me what they are.

I just unchecked Windows live & Skype and I have many more.

I don't know what I need and don't need at startup.

Thanks again

I think "Startup Lite" will work with Windows 7. StartUpLite: Malwarebytes

You might also want to see if your Anti-Virus program is scanning or looking for updates at start up.
