Laptop will not boot.

First, my apologies if I've posted this in the wrong section. Anyway, right after turning on my laptop and logging in I got a bsod. Now the laptop does not seem to want to boot. It has power and sounds like it turns on (fan comes on), but the screen stays black and the keyboard doesn't seem to come on either. I have tried the thing where you unplug power and remove the battery and hold down the power button for 15 seconds.
I guess I forgot to add that after the blue screen the laptop shut off. Also not sure if it matters but it had been in hibernation before the blue screen.

Oh man, this is a BSOD not "Blue Screen of Death" but "Black Screen of Death". This is the wrong section. I'm gonna bring an admin to move to the right section.

No, it was a blue screen followed by the laptop not fully coming on.

Can you get to Advanced Boot Options (F8 menu right before Windows starting logo)? Or do you get no display at all after you push power button?

The only things that seem to come on is the fan and the cdrom thing. After leaving it alone for a few hours it came on and I tried to enter Startup repair but the screen froze and bits of blue became visible. It looked like it was trying to do A blue screen but froze before it could. It is now doing the same as earlier (no screen or Keyboard)

Can you remove the HDD and test it in another machine (attach as secondary and run HDD manufacturer's disgnostic tool and checkdisk on it)? Also try starting without hard disk and see if you can at least see BIOS.

I would also try running with only 1 RAM stick if there are 2.
Try without battery (AC adapter only) and only with battery too.

Hm, re-install Windows. That's your best bet if BSODs come up before even starting up. This is probably due to csrss.exe or wininit.exe that is corrupt.

Maybe, but it could be a hardware problem, so a suggestion to reinstall might be premature. Once we rule out a hardware problem, then a reinstall might be a viable course of action.

Can you boot the Win7 disk to browse into hard drive to see if files are intact? If so you can rescue them via
Copy & Paste - in Windows Recovery Console . Then Troubleshoot Windows 7 Failure to Start .

If disk won't boot, unplug hard drive and try again to see if hard drive is blocking the disk from booting.
