Laptop will not start or be able to recover.

So i have a laptop that i have had since January... Normally after every few months it would get stuck on the Starting Windows screen and be unable to move from this screen... So normally i would do a system restore and just "deal with it". However today when i tried to start my laptop after two continuous weeks of having to restore my laptop, now i cant even recover the laptop.

So any help.... And excuse me if i ask a lot of questions i am really not a computer person, and no my laptop did not come with a windows 7 cd back up thing.

It would help if you provided information about your computer. At the top of any Forum page click on "User CP". In the left column, click on "Edit System Spec". Fill in as much info as you can, particularly make and specific model of your laptop.

Have you tried starting your computer in Safe Mode? You might be able to access System Restore from there or perform some troubleshooting and/or repair functions. One of the Forum experts prepared this troubleshooting guide. It's time consuming but has helped many resolve their startup problems.

What I would do in this case is rescue my data if necessary and then do a Clean Reinstall - Factory OEM Windows 7.

The behavior you describe can be caused by corruption endemic to the preinstalled bloatware which is larded into factory PC's along with useless duplicate utilties all freeloading on the system's resources while throttling Win7. Or it could be bad boot code on the HD which can only be remedied by wiping it first with Diskpart Clean Command.

Either way the best way to start fresh with an install that's even better than getting a new PC is to do the Clean Reinstall after wiping the HD to cover both possibilities.
