Will I be able to activate this installation somehow?

Before I spend ages installing fresh software I would like to know if I will be able to activate this copy of Win 7 Pro 64 bit that was originally on a PC that had a motherboard failure. This new PC also has an M.2 PCIE C: Drive and is therefore quite different from the one the OEM copy was originally installed to. If MS won't wear activating it due to hardware failure will I be able to *BU* a license key for it, r should I stop installing software as I may need to change the install to one from another installation DVD? The copy I have installed is a fresh download from MS for which I inputted the key from my original OEM Win7 disk packaging. Activation on line has failed three times. Thanks, hopefully the needed data is copied into this post below.

Hi Roy, many thanks for your very fast answer. KB971033 was already installed, I tried uninstalling it as Googling this fix seemed to suggest it needs removing so I was a bit confused. Whatever, if trying to activate on line I still get this same error

that error code implies that that key is currently in use on another comp.

Unless it has changed, the usual method is to sit quiet ignoring the recorded messages.
After a while a human will answer. Tell them your mobo died. If they ask how many machines it is on, the correct answer is one.
