latency issues ?

I have major latency issues and from DPC checker have figured out that its my network adapters (or at least I think?). When I disable them, I get nearly perfect sound. Ive re installed them/downloaded new drivers multiple times and no difference.

I've disabled/enabled devices correctly in the BIOS.
I've tried various memory sticks, sound card devices, PSU's, network cards; non of which makes any difference.
I've 'run' memtest, and used extensive testing with post probe/micro-scope (micro 2000) which revealed no issues. I also dismantled it and gave it a thorough dusting and 'contact' clean, non of which has made any difference at all?
The problem goes away when the network is disabled. I don't want to have to disable the network connection every time I listen to music! All my drivers are up to date on windows 7. Also using pentium 4 CPU/DDR2 3Gb. All other functions work perfectly. The network card is a tenda W322p/PCI.
The same problem exists with either the motherboard on-board sound, or seperate sound card.
It sounds like a fast repetitive stutter similar to a vinyl LP styli that has got stuck in one groove over and over again; e.g. "gra-gra-gra-gra-grateful".

found this: it says there is nothing that can be done! IRQ conflict - Onboard LAN and Sound card, how to change IRQ? - Microsoft Community "No matter what, you can't control PCI IRQs."

My PC has seen quite a few PSU's in its time! It currently has a HIPER MODULAR TYPE R. This one hasn't been in the machine for that long - it's still quite new in fact. All the voltages and amps check out OK.

Ok looks very much like my tester 2 only I have an Intel board that PSU is next up and without going all the way back the drivers for the sound card have all been updated.

As a matter of interest I haven't heard that many good comments about Creative but it is worth keeping in mind another sound card the brand I have (Asus Xonar DG's) in my machines nice cards and not expensive.

Yes creative do have a bad reputation, I agree. It works fine when the wi-fi network is disabled though. One of my neighbours has a current model high end sound card and I tried that and the problem was still there. I also tried the on board integrated mainboards own sound and the problem was still there. I did remember to enable and disable devices in the BIOS also. Tried three different sound sources all of which are fine when the wi-fi is disabled. Also tried my neighbours PSU with no difference either. My PSU is quite new though.

The wi-fi and audio (x-fi) share the same IRQ (21) With no conflicts reported. Apparently this can't be changed in windows 7? IRQ conflict - Onboard LAN and Sound card, how to change IRQ? - Microsoft Community "No matter what, you can't control PCI IRQs."

Don't mind at all if anyone wants to tell me that they have similar issues as we may well be able to help each other somehow? i.e. 'pool' our experiences, resources, knowledge etc!

It is not "the more the merrier" for help that we provide. It is a one OP at a time unless someone would chime it that they found a solution in the thread. With more people there is more confusion as I have stated. It make a real mess of things. Our people don't get upset if a person starts a new thread for an issue. We however don't want threads on the SAME issue posted all over the forums.

I can't see the problem of jumping on a thread with a similar problem as the op the more the merrier, and

-------------------------------------------

It's very simple.
1. Stepping all over the last thread we lost the OP.
We don't like that. We want to help.
2. People trying to help can't keep one problem and computer specs separate. We also can't keep track of what suggestion was used on what computer and the results.
3. Can you think of the mess if all BSOD were all in one thread.
4. The best way to do it on this Forum is this Forms methods. It has worked for tens of thousand of people and computers with problems. It works for over a quarter of a million members and ever more that are not members.
5. We have owners, operators and monitors on this Form I presume will take suggestion on changes to our methods. When the suggestions are presented in a proper fashion.

Have a nice day.

Well I think you have lost the interests of anyone who could help you by your flippant know-it-all attitude matey. This forum along with the Vista and Win 8 forum have been doing all wrong since 2005 or so, but get along quite well. The founder and owner has set up a very nice system that works if one chooses to work within it. With your standards a forum would be one big all encompassing thread.
Due to the millions of different hardware configurations two issues that are "the same", aren't at all.

For the record I read post #8

Well for one no one is looking for a witch hunt you might have a issue that might seem like a issue we have seen before but you have to give it time for people to set in and help you

Now I know when I do searches of information of specific matter most of the time search results brings up this forum believe it or not and that is probably why you were hearing all of this and that

This forum has been around a long time your issue maybe uncommon to you but people that have been here a while have seen many hardware configurations and combinations that they can almost guess by reading what the issue is sometimes there is no solving the issue and you just have to either move on to the next step or think about doing something else

Everyone here likes to help just don't want bickering between people because we are all adults and there is no reason to throw jabs back and fourth if it is really something that is a problem with how someone replys you can simply have a private chat or even ask a mod to have a chat with them simple as that but it must be a valid reason simple disagreement shouldn't constitute aggression towards each other
I wish you luck on your issue though and hope it get's corrected soon

OK - Thank you!

ON TOPIC: I have tried the 'X-Fi' in different PCI slots, which did change the IRQ from 21 to 23 but now it is sharing with a USB controller instead of the Wi-Fi PCI card; this has made no difference, the buffer/latency stuttering is still present and the sound no better.

@thedoc735,

1. Stepping all over the last thread we lost the OP.
We don't like that.

I did apologise (& say sorry) publicly on this forum to Kwitel. What else do you want me to do please?
I was unaware that 'joining in' with an OP thread is not aloud - again very sorry!

I have also started my own thread 'herein' in an attempt to 'make amends'.

Apologies to all for my mistake.

If you are thinking of banning me (?) please consider simply allowing me to close my own account for this forum, so that I have some measure of dignity left intact. You have made me feel very guilty for my mistake and I do not expect absolution from you. I admit I was wrong! Thank you.

Hello and welcome back Doc look mate I think you have had your hiding in many posts and I am apoligising to you as I must take some of the blame too for going along with your query in that thread in the first place.
So if anyone thinks that it was all your fault then it wasn't I should have pulled up way back and again I am sorry that you have copped a flogging because I did "encourage" your participation in that thread originally in that sense.:o

So I am also apologising also to everyone else and especially kwitel for anything I did and I think it only fair that I should receive some criticism as much as Doc has got. I am not saying this for any particular reason apart from my own sense of what is the honourable to do and that is not let Doc take all the blame.

Anyone who knows me will know that I am not a BS artist and I sincerely mean what I am about to post - because I was brought up to do the honourable thing.

I hope we can now move on and see if we can help out the Doc with his issue.
