Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7

I guess WHQL version is meant for both 32 & 64 bit Windows 7 and for all the ATI Series Graphics Cards. Just like the one Nvidia have. The only doubt i have is the Version no. WHQL is 8.612 where as the other is 9.5

i updated my ATi driver last night it blue screened right at the very end WHQL driver install after a reboot looks like the install took as i have the latest drivers running without any problems

I am unable to make the TV out works.

I got a HD3850 AGP, I installed the 9.5 AGP hotfix drivers and CCC.

Does anyone here can tell me if you are able to make the TV out works on the PCI-e cards?

Catalyst 9.6 were leaked about a week ago:

They should be available through AMD in another week or so.

They've finally fixed the second separate card card stuck at full 3D clock speed at start up

Hello Dorfdad,

You could uninstall it from Programs and Features first, then install the new drivers.

I installed right over CCC 9.5 without any problems.

I do that often here as well since the Catalyst installer will automatically remove the previous version as part of the process. If you have any worries then simply run the setup.exe file usually found in the "C:\ATI\support\Cat. version #\Driver\" sub folder there and select the uninstall button.

I'm still to find a need to install Catalyst drivers over the standard Windows7 WDDM ones. I was gaming using them, and performance was identical. It supports dual monitor output right out of the box... so waht more do you need?

hmm, I suppose. I run a passively cooled card so I have no need for overclocking and fan controls so maybe that's why I never noticed them

lol, that's fair enough

One of my cards sounds like a jet at high speed, so having a shortcut through CCC to switch from low/high speed is a must.

for anyone who's interested here's the XTREME-G 9.6 ATI drivers.....

these add a few extra options in CCC and deliver a tad better performance.

Hi guys - just read the past 34 pages of this, and I don't think my problem is in there. My problem could be my own stupidity though.

I have the 3200 on a gigabyte motherboard with the HDMI going to a Video Processor then projector. The VGA out is to an Dell monitor which was only used when initially configuring the system.

All used to work on Vista with CCC (don't know what version, sorry), but I've just installed Windows 7, patched it with required updates and installed CCC 9.6.

Now, the Video Processor is a bit picky about what signals it receives, so I normally send it 720p @ 50hz or 60hz.

It seems that a lot of the options I used to have available in the Vista version are no longer available here (although the help mentions them). I can't force the displays anymore with HDTV settings - I have to switch to Windows 7's resolution setter and try and force it there.

Unfortunately, no picture. Am I doing something wrong, or are these extra settings (on the Display Settings tab IIRC) no longer available in Windows 7?

Apologies if some of this is garbled - I'm not writing from the same room as the machine, but I'll confirm later.

Not garbled at all in fact quite good for a first post. The only thing Im thinking is what rev win 7 you running? the picky driver might have ( of may) be worked out already.

Thanks Ken. I'll check the Windows version tonight when I get home, but it was downloaded last Wednesday if that's any help.
