I have tried this and thought it was the fix until I lost video again 20 minutes later.

Hello Lord Vader,

It's usually best to read the release notes on a new driver to see if what is new for it may benefit you any before installing them. If not, then I would not worry about it. If so, then it will not hurt to give it a try. If it doesn't workout, then you can alway rollback the driver in Device Manager, or uninstall the new one and reinstall the old one.

I have a Alienware M17 notebook with a windows 7 ultimate but the updater can not update my ati 3870 x2 graphics cards. Please somebody help me. This is my Catalyst driver details.

This driver will NOT work in my Win 7 install. I can't use it nor, 9.11. I have installed, uninstalled, used Driver Sweeper, uninstalled ALL ATI products. I booted into safe mode and I give up. Win 7 will NOT allow me to install ANY drivers other than the crappy pre relase one available from MS.
Looks like I will have to buy another Video card so I can get some of the feature available to this card or, buy a Nvidia card.

I have googled till my finger nails bled and I give up.

i have old known problem with x64 and 4870x2
i use dual monitor t220 and t240HD...
in games i got freez and autorestar and after that i need to restart PC over 20 times to get right picture...

after freez i get this kind of pic:

what should i do?

This is what i learned Ati 9.11 & 9.12 need to be Mod before Installing
Get the Mod & Instructions - HERE


1. Make sure you have cleaned all ATI drivers, you can do this with (Drive Sweaper or Driver Cleaner.NET)
2. Download and install Mobility Modder v1.2.0.0 here
3. Download ATI latest version 9.12
4. Modd, install

ATI Catalyst Driver

How do you think this latest driver would install on a DELL laptop? Normally update drivers are provided by DELL. However, the driver installed by DELL is not as current as the driver mentioned.

Typically the drivers won't install. The mfg. uses a modified driver to support mods to flat panels. True for ALL mfg. not just Dell. I have not been able to upgrade either of my Dell laptops graphics beyond what W7 installs by default.

these are not the 10.1 BETA drivers, they're a polished version of the official 9.12 Hotfix drivers..

im running these myself & i show a synthetic benching drop (vantage / 3dmark06), but gaming shows a serious improvement...

check out these ''Dirt 2'' pics & the framerate......

maxed out...ultra settings.

this is EXCELLENT performance for DX11, so these are CERTAINLY worth the install.


were still waiting on the 10.1 revision, according to ''Catalyst Maker'' on Twitter, were expecting to see them surface sometime this week...
