Is the AMD Catalyst 10.12 Preview for Windows 7– Featuring the new Catalyst Control Center & Catalyst Software Suite Are those two different things I need to download? Or do I just need to do one of them Is one just the control center and one is the driver update? different things? Can I just do one of them?





I got it never mind about the last question. I love this new setup. It is way better. It helps me to understand what all the different settings actually do. But I did go into my vga displays then I went into image adjustsments and hit the composite sync square. It made my screen go black and say format not recognised. I had to restore my computer to right before the install. LO. But other than that. It is awesome and I love it. They def need to keep this one and get it to the stable non beta version.

By the way for anyone who wants to know if you go into your device drivers and look into what version it is. It is 8.801.0.0.

I did not know we were doing it like that. Then this is what Mine says completely. In the catalyst control under information, Software.

My Catalyst 10.12, with all the new features + morphological enabled:







To enable Morphological Antialiasing for ATI 5000 series, use the registry tweak:

(don't forget to use Driver Sweeper each time before you install a new Catalyst version)

Save it as MLAA.reg, click to run and apply. Don't forget to reboot for the changes to take effect.


MLAA.reg - tested on Catalyst 10.12, 10.11, 10.10. Will most likely work on future versions as well.

I downloaded mine from AMD Official http://sites.amd.com this morning.

This version might be incompatible with your card. Unpacking the installer and editting the inf file may help. Compare your card's ID in the device manager with the one in the .inf file in the driver folder of the unpacked installer.

In short, this is an RC version, works like a charm but not necessarily for all cards. Just wait for the final.

just like stormy says your mainboard doesnt need the update but your graphics does it would be a better choice and a more stable install

About the only time they aren't there is in hotfix or beta packages.

For anyone else (still) on AGP 4000series cards

Just download the PCIe 10.12 drivers with Catalyst 2 preview. They both work fine!

Here's how, more or less.

Unload previous AGP ati/amd graphic driver
reboot
delete the old ati/amd folders on the C: drive
Load 10.12 32 or 64bit drivers

At first catalyst 2 will not load so you need to point the driver to the correct drivers in new C:/amd folder

control panel > device manager > 'display adaptors' > driver > update driver > Browse my pc > let me pick > have disk > point to C: drive/AMD/Cat 10.12/Packages/drivers/display/W7.inf/CW109686.inf

Click 'open' button on your menu
Browse down to 4600series or in my case I loaded 4670 driver further down
Both driver & Catalyst 2 preview work perfectly for Youtube-flash /blu-ray/dvd films/games etc etc

I installed a new 2TB HD in my Dell Zino 400 HD with ATI Radeon HD 4330 / W7 64 and now I have lost full screen when i connect to my 50" Philips TV. This worked fine before. I tried new CCC but that didnt help either.

very disappointing .. do not know where to get old Catalist software

any ideas ?

the old drivers and catalyst should be on the main website if you punch your card details in :ar:Graphics Drivers & Software
