Latest AMD Catalyst Video Driver for Windows 7

Updated catalyst to 12.3 earlier today and had no problems. After shutting my comp down though and restarting the aero transparency effects are not working. The windows troubleshooting option "Troubleshoot problems with transparency and other aero effects" did not solve the problem. Has anyone else experienced this issue or found how to solve it? My desktop is very ugly right now P.S. I have a radeon hd 6870

No I don't have that issue with my dual gpu setup Hd6870's im running 12.2 got it today 12.3 i don't think it is really available ATM because a few days ago it was still 12.1 maybe a 12.3 preview drivers but im good off that last time i used a preview driver it cause my cards to crash and heat up insanly

Updated today from the vision control center and it says 12.3. Maybe it's lying to me.

I think if you read back a few Brink pointed out a typo error in the version driver

Thanks Brain, the uninstall re-install did the trick.

Was a bit concerned after the uninstall since transparency still wasn't working, but after re-installing the drivers things are back to normal.

no problem also worth checking the monitor drivers on there website and install them iusing device manager

Update: After shutting down my comp and booting up an hour later the transparency is again not working.

Will look into the monitor drivers.

Edit: Having a hard time finding those drivers. All I seem to be able to find is the catalyst suite, application profiles, hydravision (sound a little like dexcube which I used to like), and some codecs. Not just an individual driver.

And again, no it does not affect anything with how the drivers function.

1. I choose Aero theme (Windows 7)

2. Try to select Window Color but all I get is the regular 'Window Color and Appearance' dialogue and not the Aero color selection

Uninstalled and re-installed - still fails. v 12.1 worked just fine

the drivers for the monitor will be in device manager. windows will install what it thinks is best see my pic copy device manager and paste it in the search box in start menu and click on the top result in the start menu

Needed to go into CCC and desktop management and change from 16bit to 32bit color Ha

I have an asus VW246H monitor, any ideas?

I have an Asus VE258 and Asus does not have drivers available. I also checked your monitor and the same thing. Mine also shows as Generic PnP Monitor but if I right click the desktop and choose Screen Resolution it shows up there correctly. I believe they use DDC to tell the system what the monitor is and its capabilities and the default monitor.sys driver is all that is needed. You may want to go back to 12.1 and see what it does. I am still on 12.1 and may wait a while to see if any hot fixes are released for 12.2.

Sometimes you can easily correct the Generic PnP Monitor.

Turn off the computer and monitor, UNPLUG the power for 30 minutes so that the charge has a chance to drain from the capacitors. Unplug the video cable as well. Then after 30 minutes, replug the cable, and the power cord. Turn on monitor and reboot computer.

Doesn't always work, but has worked before (this also works sometimes when the network card doesn't seem to be working).
