Latest CCleaner stops Chrome auto-logon

I', running CCleaner 4.08.4428 (64 bit) and Chrome Version 32.0.1700.41 beta-m Aura. Normally Chrome auto-logs on when I start it. but with this latest update, if I run CCleaner first, Chrome requires a manual logon.

I'm not sure if this is a problem with Chrome or with CCleaner; I've tried tweaking CCleaner's settings for Chrome but nothing seems to help the problem. Obviously something changed with Chrome's latest Beta, but I can't tell what it is.

It sounds like CCleaner is deleting the Chrome cookies. Options/Cookies, after logging into Chrome see if there are cookies related to it and move them to the To Keep column.

Nope - tried that and it didn't work. When Chrome starts after running CCleaner it gives the message about not being able to read my profile. So with this Beta version they seem to have changed something related to what and/or where the user profile is stored.

OK then how about under Applications? You can see I don't have Chrome, only Firefox and Opera, maybe Chrome has something for a profile. Beyond this I have no idea unless as you say it's a browser issue.

Chrome beta barfs when you let CCleaner clear Internet History.





There may be other items that CCleaner can barf Chrome by cleaning - I quit testing after the Internet History find.

Exactly correct - I found this same fix on the CCleaner forum. Apparently others are having the same problem, independent of the Beta version of Chrome.

Cleaning Internet History works the same for all browsers, I think. IT does for Opera and FF at least. I want it cleaned though and don't leave tracks.
