They must be having issues. When I click Download on the portable from this page:
CCleaner - Builds

I get download portable page but it does nothing. When I click either link that says "start the download" I just get the spinning circle. The link from MajorGeeks was the same way. It just spins its wheels.

I tried MajorGeeks link again just now for the portable and I got the download. Seems like someone is fixing something along the line.

Have you noticed any bugs? The last time I tried updating CCleaner something weird happened and I had to go back to a previous version.

No, I didn't notice any bugs in the last version, but there is a new version out today: v5.28.6005

The latest 5.28 is now out CCleaner - The world's most popular PC cleaner & optimization tool - Piriform I always download from piriform to avoid the inevitable emails from the mirror site/s

Just one thing though I don't know if it is my imagination but the free version seems to have less and less features with each version and while I would like the Pro version - six machines would cost me a fortune

Ooops missed Skyranchers post but all the same I am still wondering about the apparent slow grab back of some of the fetures.

No mate you can get whatever version you like I use the free - but what I was saying was that it seems the features of this software appear to be getting fewer and fewer.

I also have always used the free version. I have 'notify me' when new ver. is avail. I always clik 'No Thanks' to the upgrade page that it takes me to which then takes me to the page to select the free version. I thought the 'Complete Cleaning' feature had always had a green check-mark. Now it's my turn for 'imagination'.

Yes MS mate I am sure there were four or five features in the Analyse window but I could be wrong.

The cost of the full version prevents me from getting it for my machines, and as I have six (plus the escalating price too) makes me quite unimpressed to be honest.

When I get home from hospital I am going to try out some other alternatives on the test desktop form this lot

+1 I have been frequenting Tech Support Alert for many years. I used to post comments frequently. They seem to have revitalized lately. In any case with that site it is good to read the comments, if any, for the category. Often a freeware gem is mentioned by someone in the comments with a link. Sometimes that unknown freeware is better than any of the software in the review.

Piriform should really have a friendly pricing model for home users. Unfortunately, the business model doesn't seem to target that group. It's a shame.

With you Miles it is a source of a great deal of useful looking software and I am a great fan of it. The only thing I find with that site on the forum is the replies are often very slow but I guess having to run the site would prove to be quite "labour intensive" eh?

Yes SkyRancher the prices for CCleaner out here are beyond me mate - I am often tempted to try the free trial of Pro but I know I shall get pestered forever with ads
