Leaked builds of Windows 7 hitting file sharing networks are claiming to be "very, very possible FINAL RTM build."

More than one piracy scene group today released iso disc images that bear the build string and filename "7600.16385.090713-1255_x86fre_client_en-us_Retail_Ultimate-GRMCULFRER_EN_DVD.iso."

It's unclear how different this is from build 7600 that leaked onto the internet last Sunday, though the filename indicates that it was compiled on July 13, 2009 at 12:55 p.m., making it a few days newer than the one previously leaked.

Microsoft did follow up with a comment on July 13, saying, "Just because a single build may have 'leaked' it does not signal the completion of a milestone such as RTM."

Furthermore, Microsoft's Windows Communication Manager Brandon LeBlanc warned users against using leaked builds of Windows 7. "As always, beware of what you download. There are many bogus copies of Windows 7 floating around the Internet. More often than not, they contain a rather nice malware payload," he said.

"When Windows 7 hits RTM, it will be announced here," LeBlanc continued. "Until that happens, any builds you are likely to see on the web are either not the final bits or are laced with malicious code."
Source

EDIT: Windows 7600.16385 build fixes Windows 7 build 7600.16384 of IE8 a Bug.

Probably scramble for the torrents,
read bitches about seeders,
read messages from those who are going to sleep,
complaints about less than 1803 Mbs,

see 389 requests for PM's,
see 387 messages saying "PM sent",

then go thru the inevitable "Is this the real thing" type questions,
with the inevitable "Yes/No/I don't think so/I really believe it is/ Microsoft says, etc/,

read the posts complaining about the driver-problems,
link ref is from Thailand and I can't read it, WZOR site is down/can't log-in/can't read Russian/posts not up to date, MS warns about endangering your computer with infected .iso files,

then the usual 'Robinski' .iso versus the 'HamLing' mods as 26 RAR files,

What do I do with the 26 RAR files/How do I make a bootable paper-clip,
and all the other usual questions that follow...

The ones I love the most are the: "I just installed the iso and this/that doesn't work",
no mention of x86, 64bit, Robinski, the Chinese version, which torrent was DL, what the buildnbr was, no file-names, file-sizes, file-dates, etc.

Nah, it's gonna be lots of fun, when the "real RTM" is 'leaked'... :roflmao:
235 pages of the same old stuff...
How in the heck we get thru it, I'll never know....

did Microsoft announced anything about RTM in the conference?

i don't understand why rush and download all of this leaks when you still
don't know if it is the final RTM.

Yes you're right that its the best to do a clean install, but when i find a proper real RTM version ill upgrade it untill the final version in 22.10 comes out, then ill do a clean install.I have a spare PC, soo if i mess up, i don't care ...;)

My primary work PC will have WinXP for some time, until they make all the nessery drivers.

i hate the fact that i have only 1 pc for my work and for my research with new builds. So it becomes a pain for me to reinstall everything again. I will now stick with the build 7600 for some more time.

I did an upgrade install from 7232 to 7600 1945 using the cversion.ini trick.
It's ok but not great and I've already got a couple of issues.
It seems to be using 3 to 4% more RAM at idle-no biggie
More seriously I cannot browse Digg as the mouse pointer flickers in and out of existence to the point where it's unusable.
I have a Roccat Kone mouse which I love but MS doesn't.
I've had to manually install a driver for it every time I've upgraded.
So it might be that but why only on Digg?
Also I'm worried that it may start happening on other sites.
I suppose I'll stick it out until the real RTM leaks but I wouldn't bother with this particular build if I had to do it again.

Cheers, John:)
