One of my mail folders has started showing up as empty, although it used to contain more than 100 messages. The screenshot shows the left-hand windows listing two new messages in the "_Terry" folder, but none showing in the folder's preview window.

All other folders, including several with names beginning with "_" are working as normal.

I have run "All Mail Items" searches, found many messages and moved them from the faulty folder to a new one but I can't delete the faulty folder because I'm certain it's not empty.

All I've tried so far is re-booting, which hasn't worked.

Any suggestions are welcome, and thanks in advance.

I'm using Windows 7 64-bit and Outlook 2007.

Dear Carolyn,
Thank you for the suggestion, which I am sure will bear fruit down the track.
I ran the tool and it found and fixed (it said) 77 errors but, sadly, not the error in question.
Just in case, I moved a message from my Deleted folder to the faulty folder. The message immediately disappeared from sight, but was listed in a search, as before.
However I am just about to re-boot, in case that helps after the Microsoft fix

Problem solved.
Somehow (no idea how or why) a filter was applied to the "faulty" folder. Nothing showed up when I went into the Filter dialogue box, but when I clicked Clear Filter all was restored to normal.
