I am interested in LCD style televisions, not LED.

May be a bit of an odd question, but I was wondering if anyone knows (as specific as possible) the timeline in which LCD TVs were at their absolute best and when did LED TVs take over to in essence replace them.

There are a great deal of factors to this (screen size, response rate, cable TV channel resolution, TV hardware, TV resolution, TV settings, etc.) but in my mind, LCD computer monitors seem to have, for the most part, always have been sharp and responsive (obviously they were designed differently than LCD TVs) and it just seems that most LCD TVs that I have seen, seem to generally have resolution quality and motion responsive issues.

Most I have been exposed to are fairly older LCD TVs, so as mentioned above, I was just wondering when were LCD TVs at their absolute peak in video and audio quality?

Also if anyone has any specific models that they know have great video / audio quality (non-Smart TV) TVs that they can recommend?
Figure at a size of 20" - 32" or I guess maybe say a 40" max. but smaller sizes would be preferred.

Thank You for any advice/opinions.

All LED TVs are LCD (of various types), it is the back light that is LED. The older LCD TVs had florescent back lights.

Thank you for your response.
No, I do know that, it has always been fun trying to explain what I am looking for, for that specific reason :D
I call TVs with florescent lights "LCD" because that is what I believe they were originally referred to as, and I call TVs with LED lights, "LED"

I am looking for LCD TVs with florescent lights, but normally people don't say "florescent light" TV.
This also makes looking up these TVs a little difficult, which is one of the reasons why I figured I would start this thread.

Thank you again

As far as I know LED stands for Light Emitting Diode & LCD means Liquid Crystal Display. I think LCD's are the older technology & LED the later technology. Also as far as I know they both some form of back lighting.
