Hi everyone, been searching the net for a while and still not finding a solution.

The router is connected to a HP laptop already thru the router wirelessly via WPA encryption. I can see my SSID and when prompt to enter my security key/passphrase, it says "windows was unable to connect", and when I click to trouble shoot problems, it says "window can't identify the problem". I'm using windows 7 with the Lenovo. I know the security key is correct because I went into http://192.168.1.1 and checked, and already connects to the HP. Also when I enter the wrong security code it says "invalid security code", it's when I enter the correct code it tells me that "windows was unable to connect to (my SSID).I'm going bonkers over this

Try switching to WPA-2 encryption, you should be able to use the same SSID and password.

WPA is an outdated standard and Windows 7 doesn't like it so much depending on the wireless adaptor being used.

No problem at all.

For some reason Windows 7 doesn't like working with the old WAP standard.

This may be because it's outdated and not very secure at all.
