Those pics were taken before I cleaned up the wiring a bit, bit its enough to get a general idea.

Im very happy with my 600T.
I have read others say similar about the fan controller built in. i never actaully used mine, and just put a after market Sunbeamtech 6fan contralloer in mine and all is well.
You can see the 3rd party fan controller just bove the BluRay drive.

I modded my case cooling a bit. The big front fan is a CoolerMaster Mega flow (which wont fit with the front HD cage there)
And I replaced the exhaust fans to Xigmatechs and CoolerMAsters.
Also, put 2 original 120s back in to cool the HDs, and force air between the GPU/Sound Card and Chipset.

Keep in mind, there are 2 versions of that case.
The white one, and theres a black one. Unless they have changed it though, the black one has a mesh side panel with room for 4 optional 120mm fans. Where as the White version has both. By default a Windowed panel.


I love the 600T myself, but there are a few that don't like the looks. But I can tell you it looks much better in person than it does in the pictures.




The 520s are good SSDs, but the 320Series (I have the 80GB) are very good as well.. They look kinda weak on the benchmarks when comparing to these other Sata 3 SSDs, as they are SATA2, but dont let that hold you back too much.

Seriously, they are amazing SSDs. I wouldn't hesitate to buy another Intel 320 series.

Keep in mind, & seriously decide if you will really use the Hyperthreaded part of that CPU.

Because, if not .. or rarely .. Dropping to a 2500K and putting the difference towards graphics might make the GTX 580 a contender. Which would give more "gaming" power to the build, and the sacrifice on the CPu end may not be noticeable for the work you do.

But as I mentioned, if alot of video encoding and or other mutlithreaded/CPU intesive tasks will be done with this build .. then the hyperthreading could be a big advantage then.

Im not saying the i7 are a bad choice .. I love mine and certainly recommend them.
Its just that not everyone really has the need for it and it would just sits idle most of the time. So putting your money toward what matters most to you is always a good idea.


Either way, with all the suugestions here so far, it just a matter of prefrence and you'll end up with a nice rig for sure.

I agree with Wishmaster. Really unless he plans on doing a lot of HD videos transcoding or rendering large Photshop images or working with CAD, the i5 2500K will be a super choice. I think the better GPU will have a better game impact than an i7.

If I recall correctly, the 7950 and 580 are about on equall ground.
As far as PCIX 2 vs 3, currently its not really a issue. First couple generations of PCI3 will still be unable to full utilize a PCIx 2 x16 bandwidth, let alone PCIx 3.0


Personally, I would go with the Nvidia card for now .. but thats completely personal prefrence.
The major reason, is take a look around at performance in certain games.

Saints Row the Third is a excellent example.

Those running Intel CPUS + Nvidia GPUs are getting good performance and gameplay. Those running AMD GPUs are having major performance problems.
I do not think its a actually hardware issue as it is drivers or possibly just the game coding itself.

Sometimes the 3D Mark scores really do not give accurate picture of real world gameplay.

But to be totally fair, I do not have any hands on experience with the 7000 series AMD cards. Only what Ive read.

I agree with Wishmaster. At the moment there is only one GPU that can max out the PCIe 2.0, I forget which it is. The AMD 7xxx GPUs are new and do have issues. The nVIDIA would be a fine choice now but a PCIe 3.0 board will add some future proofing to your build.

Do make sure your choosen case has the room for either, they are huge.

When I build a system from the ground up I usually start with the motherboard/cpu....that will determine what type and speed ram you can use.....Potential pitfalls to look out for.....Incompatible ram, got burned on that once
