Ive got a SD card that is going to live in my computer, treat it as another hard drive, and I want to add it to my videos library but Windows says I cant.

Is there a way to add removable storage into a library?

I just tried that too, looks like these are the only places you can add to the libraries.

I don't know about setting it up, but won't using an SD as a hard drive fry that thing in no time?

I know "thumb-drives" weren't designed for that type of use and will die quickly if use in that manner.

I'm not actually going to use it as a hard drive, i was just comparing it to that. Im using it as additional storage on my HP Slate 500.

Well yes, I was just trying to compare. But that's beside the point. I want to find out if there is a way to put it on a library.

Do a search on the Forum there is a long thread only a week or two old on this subject. Conclusion was that you cannot add an SD card to the library in Windows 7!

Well yes, I was just trying to compare. But that's beside the point. I want to find out if there is a way to put it on a library.

It is actually pretty simple. Create a folder on that SD card. Then use "send to" to put this folder into e.g. Documents. Create a new library (or use an existing one) and include that folder. That's at least how I do it with USB sticks which have the same problem. Then you can create subfolders to that folder - if you wish.

I tried that whs, created a file on the USB drive but it didn't work for me. According to windows you can't include a folder from a removable device in Library's.

Although it does show USB drives could work.

Only if the device appears in the navigation pane, under Computer, in the Hard Disk Drives section. This is set by the device manufacturer, and in some cases, it can be changed. Contact your manufacturer for more information.

Which is interesting because my USB drive does show up under Computer and also shows up in the navigation pane but it wouldn't let me include the file I made on the USB drive in Library's. Maybe I didn't do something right?

You can include folders in a library from many different locations, such as your computer's C drive, an external hard drive, or a network.
