Limit Windows music studio pc

Hi.

I wonder if there is any way I can limit my windows 7 home premium to some programs. I use my pc as a music studio computer and know very well what software I use ant what I dont care about, is there any way I can limit windows to that software, which I pick out? My aim is to optimise windows to highest performance in studio computing.

That was a serious answer, though it left out a few things.

First, use Programs and Features in Control Panel to uninstall any software you do not want.
Next, use msconfig Startup tab to disable any programs from starting when the computer boots that you don't want or need.

Warning: You can very easily shoot yourself in the foot so be careful what you disable. Here is a general guide for msconfig.

Note; Check the Don't show this message again box after reboot.

You won't speed up your computer by removing programs, unless those programs are running in the background. It's your computer - just install the apps you want.

I was serious. The world is not going to hold your hand, have some discipline. If you only use a small subset of applications only use/install those. Ignore all the fancy sparkle applications floating on the internet instead of downloading all of them. Discipline.
