List of optional updates

The updates about upgrading to Windows 10 and thinking more about optional updates got me thinking that maybe I don't need all these optional updates stealing space and resources on my computer.

I'd kinda like to uninstall optional updates. Is there an easy way to identify the optional updates and uninstall them?

Updates do NOT 'steal space and resources'
If your system is that short of spare room that the space required for updates is critical, then it's time to either clear out the dead wood, or get a new hard drive.
As far as resources go, updates generally use NO resources, unless they provide new functionality. Most times, updates actually attempt to decrease resource usage.

Worrying about Windows updates taking up to much space is like worrying about gasoline taking up to much space in your gasoline tank.

Windows 7 will not work properly without the needed updates.

As Noel has stated; you either remove things you don't need from the drive or you get a bigger drive. Windows 7 also needs about 10 to 15% free space on it's drive/partition to work properly.

Their is no magic tricks to get around installing needed Windows 7 Updates or lack of space.
