Load IE8 on Win 7

Running win 7 64 bit Home Premium.
I need IE8 for work.
Have IE10 loaded.
No earlier versions loaded so when I uninstall IE10 nothing to revert to.
When I download IE8 it will not install on win 7.
Anyway I can get IE8?

Use the F12 key and click on Browser mode and switch to ie8 manually,
You can also use Alt+TB and the site will be listed in the Compatibility view's add box/ click on Add.
If you choose to Uninstall ie10 see this,

I have uninstalled IE10 and am running IE9.
F12 doesn't do anything in IE9 64bit or 32bit.
and as I said IE 8 is not loaded.
If I uninstall IE9 will it automatically revert to IE8?

When you say F12 didn't do anything did Developer tools not appear ?
Browser mode ie8
Document mode might need to be switched to Quirks.

Just a point, if you installed IE9 before installing SP1, you will need to uninstall SP1 before uninstalling IE9. Then reinstall SP1.

Good reminder. Would View installed updates be the place to look for the date that Service Pack 1 (SP1) was installed? If SP1 is not listed there, then maybe the computer was built with that Service Pack included.

Let's see what pbcopter says about where/how to look for that SP1 info... but here are instructions that might help depending on the answer to the question above:
Click on Start and then type in View installed updates the filed named Search programs and files... then click on the shortcut to View installed updates. Once that window comes up, there should be a date column that lets you know when IE9 and when SP1 was installed. As mentioned above, you might not see SP1 listed at all. In that case, just uninstall IE9.
