Being on Windows 7 doesn't stop you from installing and using a good local AI image generator. You are however limited to the free InvokeAI 3.0 standalone installer, but that's perfectly good. Also free... if you don't count the hefty cost of slotting a (ideally) Nvidia 3060 12Gb graphics-card into your desktop PC.

InvokeAI 3.0 standalone is here, bundled with a few Windows 7 prerequisite items you might need to install first: Invoke AI 3 For Windows 7 SP 1 : Free Download, Borrow, and Streaming : Internet Archive

Ignore the OCR stuff you might notice there. For some reason the Archive.org bot decided that the .DLL fix was a .PDF, and that it needed to be OCR'd! Please note this is not pirated software, despite the need for a small .DLL fix to get it running on Windows 7. All items are freeware of one sort or another.

Technically it's possible. I've seen people succeed in reddit threads and there's also a tutorial online. However, there will be individual hurdles depending on your Hardware and Software. So after python configuration and other hell, it became too much of a hassle because of the Nvidia 3060 driver certificate thing (which apparently also has a solution), so eventually I realised it was faster to just install linux as a parallel OS and only use it for Stable Diffusion.
