I need help.
My local area connection is missing even the network adapters in the device manager.. While using our desktop, i noticed that the electricity flickered( once) then my internet connection disappeared.. so i had to go to network and sharing center and manage my connections. i disable and enable my local area connection and can't still connect.. so i restarted my PC and then boom.. Local area connection missing, so i had to search the net using our laptop. then even in the device manager the network adapters are missing.. i also re install its drive, used system restore.. still failed..

Try shutting down the PC, then unplug the power cord and push the start button to bleed off any extra power. Plug back in and power up, look in Device Manager to see if the adaptors are back.

If they aren't back then clearing the cmos on the board may restore the network adaptors.

Reformatting won't work if the PC requires a cmos reset. With electrical problems like that clearing the cmos is standard procedure. :)

Try re-installing your chipset drivers for the Ethernet. Do you have wireless as well and are those working?
